Whether it’s growing your network for your current job, your business, a candidate you want to assist, your own race for office, a volunteer organization, or just to meet potentially new friends, we all need to network.

In today’s world of social media, it seems we all tend to connect by Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, texting or email. That is an effective way to make initial contact with others, spread a message, advertise or shop online. However, it’s lacking when you want to build more of a personal and potentially lasting relationship or land that perfect job. Many are now working from home and are part of a remote workforce. This can make it difficult to meet new people. Here are some suggestions to get you out of the house or the office:

  • Volunteer for an organization that shares your interest and passions; it can be a charity, political group, candidate’s campaign, or something in your neighborhood;
  • One or two days a week go work in an environment where you will meet new people, such as a coffee shop or a friend’s office environment (with their permission);
  • Go out of your way to talk to people when you are out in public; compliment someone to start a conversation.

Share other ways that you network below in the comments!

    If you are part of an organization or group that you think would be useful for conservative women to help network and meet other conservative women, please share it.

    Great suggestions! I work from home, but find that hobbies and meetups are great places to meet and engage with new people as is going outside for a walk in the neighborhood as I stroll with my baby.

    Love the suggestions! I like to find balance in networking through organizations that hit different points of my community such as social, philanthropic, or political. I love volunteering with Junior League of Lubbock, meeting new people in the Lubbock community on appointed city committees, and enjoying some social time through my local university alumni association and sorority alumnae group.
